Hospital shadow blob stalker
You cannot kill the shadow blob. After the Blue Prism station, evade it while you finish the remaining Prism stations and leave Akeley Hospital.
Verified route · Akeley Hospital
You cannot kill it; evade the stalker and finish the Prism route.
After the Blue Prism station, returning to Reception triggers the weird inky enemy. Treat it as invulnerable: shooting can only make it disappear temporarily, while the reliable route is to run, dodge, finish the Yellow and Pink stations, use the Fully Charged Prism at the red bubble device in the Anatomical Theatre, and leave Akeley Hospital.
01 · Do this
Follow the route in order.
- 01
After the Blue Prism station, return through Reception. The shadow blob or inky enemy appearing there is the Hospital stalker described by the current player thread.
- 02
Do not spend your ammunition trying to kill it. The independent walkthrough and the Steam replies agree that it cannot be killed; damage may only make it disappear for a short time.
- 03
Run, dodge, and use available rooms or mirror doors to create temporary separation when the route allows it. Treat a separation as breathing room, not proof that the stalker has reset or despawned.
- 04
Continue to the Yellow and Pink stations and finish charging the Prism while prioritizing movement over combat.
- 05
Take the Fully Charged Prism to the red bubble device in the Anatomical Theatre and complete that interaction.
- 06
Leave Akeley Hospital after the Anatomical Theatre step. You do not need to kill the shadow blob to complete this Hospital route.
02 · Confirm
What success looks like.
- The stalker is still invulnerable, but the Hospital objective advances when the Prism route is completed.
- The Fully Charged Prism is used at the red bubble device in the Anatomical Theatre.
- You exit Akeley Hospital without a kill confirmation; escape and route completion are the success feedback.
03 · Boundaries
What the stalker can and cannot do.
- Steam replies agree that the enemy can follow through the remaining Hospital section, but they conflict on exactly how long it retreats after being shot or separated.
- Safe-room reset behavior is not consistent across the player reports. Do not wait for a guaranteed reset or assume a safe room permanently ends the chase.
- Mirror doors and some side rooms can provide temporary separation in player reports, but they are not presented as a universal lockout or permanent despawn.
- The practical answer is route progress and evasion, not a fixed damage threshold, chase timer, or ammunition count.
- Hotfix 1.0.1 was checked on 2026-08-20. Its official notes cover Prism validation and a third lamp in A Sight for Sore Eyes, but do not mention changing the Hospital stalker; no behavior change is inferred.
04 · Undo
If cornered.
- If the stalker corners you, break line of sight with the nearest available room or mirror door, then continue the Prism objective instead of waiting for a permanent despawn.
- If the encounter softlocks or the route no longer advances, reload the last save before the failed section and repeat the movement-first route; no file edit or combat exploit is required.

- referenceGameSpew walkthrough ↗

Official patch context checked 2026-08-20: the notes fix Prism removal during puzzle validation and a third lamp not lighting in the A Sight for Sore Eyes brain puzzle. They do not mention changing the Hospital inky stalker, so this source is not used as behavioral proof.
